The next that I bid Mike adeui, thanked him for his hospitality, and left, determined to leave Indiana in the review mirror. The morning went smoothly, following a nice bike trail into Richmond. I visited the Model T museum (really cool), ate a hardy lunch and saw the local history museum, which for some reason has a section of egypt with a real mummy. While I was in the museum, the rain decided to return (unforcasted). I spent until closing debating if I could make up the time later in the trip, but came to the conclusion i would need to ride. The last 40 miles to Sycamore state park sucked. I broke my front derailleur cable on the first steep hill out of Richmond, had to take a long detour around a train that was parked across three country crossings, and navigated to the park office instead of the campgrounds. This last issue led me onto a road that sent me down a large hill into crater sized potholes. Somehow I didn't crash. When I finally got to the campground it was still raining so I made dinner under the shelter. In my angry state I was a little short with the only other people camped there. They left before I woke up the next day so I never did get to apologize. I quickly set up my tent in between downpours and slept poorly, having to inflate my air pad twice during the night.
