The next day was more pleasant, and largely bike trails. My first stop was the city of Marion to see the Quilters Hall of Fame. It's an old building that houses a museum of fancy quilts. I love visiting quirky museums in small towns. They're quick and often odd. Leaving Marion, I only got caught in one spontaneous downpour on my way to Muncie. Luckily, the sun came out afterwards and dried me before I got to the city. I had my first unusual dinner of the trip at the Guardian Brewery: dill pickle and ranch pizza. It was surprisingly good, if you like dill pickles, which I do. Their beer was also very well made and the local radio station was doing a mother's day giveaway. I didn't win, but got a free chocolate bar. After having my fill, I started towards my host for the night, the Greenway 500 bike shop.

The Greenway 500 bike shop is fully contained in the garage of an adventurous guy named Mike. After many life adventures, he opened up this bike shop and let's touring cyclists camp in his backyard, only accepting stories (and beer) as payment. One of the cons of being the only employee of his shop is that he has to work late most nights. We talked about biking, adventure, and life while he fixed up bikes until bedtime. The grass in his backyard was soft, but still, my sleeping pad developed a hole, waking me up in the middle of the night on the ground.
